About Elizabeth

There’s nothing better than working for companies who are committed to the people they serve — it's what makes marketing for them fulfilling to me.

I’m obsessed with health care and education because I know these fields, and I’ve seen first hand how caring professionals drastically improve the lives of others.

Giving your business a voice is what I do best. Somewhere out there, your potential customers are dying for you to solve their problems.

That’s where I come in — creating engaging marketing content that speaks to the people who need you now. I can turn a piece of bland, stale business writing into interesting marketing content that grabs your website reader's attention and doesn't let go.

None of that boring, generic sales writing that makes website readers leave your site. It’s a big world online so I make your business shine with content that makes you stand out from your competitors. You'll get interesting articles, bold blog posts, impressive newsletters, strong email marketing campaigns, and other online content that builds your brand.

I’ve worked with companies like General Electric (GE), Planned Parenthood, MedHelp, Carolina Parent, and Ebay.

Beyond the health care and education market, I’ve done marketing for law firms, software companies, retailers, landscapers, marketing agencies, and electricians. This range of work has given me a unique blend of marketing experience  — which means you’ll get a sharp set of writing chops when you hire me for your project.

Before I was a freelance writer, I was a music teacher and professional violinist. I started my own business, Strings on Air, teaching kids of all ages and performing at weddings, receptions, and banquets for 10 years in the Raleigh/Durham area.

I also founded and wrote the Practice for Parents blog: a site I created to help parents nurture their young musicians. Using psychological studies and emotional development tips, I show parents how to find the best music teacher and get their kids to practice — without becoming a tiger mom.

Back in 2008, I worked at Planned Parenthood and learned a thing or two about healthcare and politics. I wrote regular blog posts for the Planned Parenthood Action Fund, counseled and educated thousands of patients about reproductive health care, and led political volunteer efforts for the Public Affairs Department.

I've called a lot of places home: Durham and Asheville, North Carolina; Boston, Massachusetts; Washington, DC; Montreal, Canada; New York City; and Austin, Texas. Let's not get into a fight about what place has the best food...I'd like to keep things civil between us.

I've got a bachelor's degree from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, but I was a Tar Heel fan waaaay before I packed my bags for college life.

When I'm not writing, I enjoy traveling to a new city, or trying to cook dinner. Once in a while I do both, which makes for an interesting experience for everyone! And that's why I've learned how to find all the good takeout spots on the map.

Go on and check out what people are saying about my work.
